Two Programmes
The Bishop’s Certificate programme consists of three blocks of study consisting of courses and a ministry skills stream. These blocks will help you to learn about key areas of Christian belief and their relationship to contemporary mission and ministry.
The Bishop’s Diploma programme consists of a further three blocks of study consisting of courses and a ministry skills stream. These blocks are designed for graduates of the Certificate programme, to enable you to study and reflect in further depth.
In both programmes each block includes two courses and resources to help you to understand your local context through what we call ‘situation analysis’. Each block of courses commences with a learning weekend to help you to start your studies. The ministry skills stream will help you to focus on developing your practice within one area of ministry.

How Do I Apply?
Firstly, you will need to decide whether you wish to study the programme in one year or over three years.
If you decide to study in one year you will participate in all three learning weekends and complete all three blocks in 2012. If you decide to study over three years you will participate in the February learning weekend and complete Block One in 2012 and a further block each year.
Secondly, you will need to decide which ministry skills stream you would like to participate in. The streams are delivered at the three learning days and focus on practical ministry skills development. You must complete a skills stream as part of your Certificate or Diploma studies.
You can choose any stream from the list. You will need to discuss the possibilities with your Parish Priest before making your application.
Thirdly, you will need to complete the application form and post it with your programme fee. Your Parish Council may be willing to subsidise your programme fee. The fee includes meals and shared accommodation at learning weekends. We do not provide lunch at learning days.
The closing date for applications to be received for the Bishop’s Certificate and Diploma programmes is 16th January 2012, however the number of places available is limited and we therefore suggest that you apply as soon as possible.
