‘How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?’ (Romans 10.14)
-
The preaching ministry is central to the life and work of the Church.   This Ministry Skills Stream aims to examine the role of the sermon in public worship and equip participants as preachers and listeners, to enable both those who are called to be preachers and those who listen to preaching to understand the role of the sermon. The stream will look at principles of composition and delivery of sermons as well as the role of the sermon in public worship.

On completion of this Ministry Skills Stream participants will be able to:

  • Prepare and deliver a sermon;
  • Appraise a sermon.
